THE ROLE
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to support IIT research activity.
The Human- Robot interfaces and Interaction (HRI²) Research line is coordinated by Dr. Arash Ajoudani, who has extensive experience in physical human-robot interaction, applied machine learning, mobile manipulation, robust and adaptive control, assistive robotics, and tele-robotics.
We are looking for a dedicated and organized Lab Operations and Activities Manager to join our team. In this role, you will support the efficient operation of our lab and assist with a variety of administrative and technical tasks. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in lab environments, whether or not they have a university degree.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Project Co--Management (e.g., assist with purchasing processes, propose new purchases as needed in collaboration with team leads, keep track of project deliverables and deadlines, coordinating efforts to ensure timely completion.).
- Administrative and Organizational Support (e.g., create and manage purchasing orders, prepare and organize packing lists for travel, welcome and onboard new team members by adding them to relevant communication platforms, help with meetings).
- Visitor and Event Management (e.g., coordinate logistics for lab visits and events, arranging schedules, resources, and any needed materials.).
- Technical Support and Inventory Management (e.g., perform simple mechanical design tasks, track and update mechanical workshop orders and projects, monitoring progress and completion, create and maintain an inventory of lab materials, including robots, sensors, and tools, ensuring items are accessible and usage is tracked.).
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- No specific degree required, although relevant experience or coursework in project management, lab administration, or a related field is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in administrative, operations, or coordination roles (experience in a lab setting is advantageous).
- Basic mechanical design skills or familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools.
- Strong focus on stakeholder needs and expectations
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with social media management, website maintenance, and content updates.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic budgeting and purchasing experience, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
- Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary ranging between 23000 and 25000 euros, which may include a bonus option depending on your role and contract
- Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
- Two days of teleworking per week and flexible working hours are available for certain roles
- Meal vouchers depending on your work contract
- Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years.
