THE ROLE
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary group, where people with different backgrounds collaborate, each with their own expertise, to support IIT research activity.
The Human-Robot Interfaces and Interaction (HRI2) Research line is coordinated by Dr. Arash Ajoudani, who has extensive experience in physical human-robot interaction, mobile manipulation, robust and adaptive control, assistive robotics, and tele-robotics.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
- optimising and refine computer vision algorithms and techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency (related to the motion capture field)
- collaborate with other engineers and researchers to integrate computer vision solutions into the overall system
- benchmark existing motion capture solutions with the goal of developing cutting edge research in this field
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- MS degree in Computer Science or a related field with a focus on computer vision
- Strong skills on C++ and Python
- Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing
- Confidence with version control tools (specifically git)
- Excellent problem-solving skills, positive and innovative attitude
- Good in time and priority management
- Good knowledge of the English language
- Strong focus on stakeholder needs and expectations
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience with motion capture
- Knowledge of ROS, Docker, Nvidia Jetson
- TensorFlow and TensorRT
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess analytical reasoning skills and a growth mindset
COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary ranging between 25000 and 27000 euros, which may include a bonus option depending on your role and contract
- Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
- Two days of teleworking per week and flexible working hours are available for certain roles
- Meal vouchers depending on your work contract
- Candidates from abroad or Italian citizens who have carried scientific research activity permanently abroad and meet specific requirements, may be entitled to a deduction from taxable income of up to 90% from 6 to 13 years
