YOUR TEAM
The Microtechnology for Neuroelectronics Research Unit (https://nets3.iit.it/en/home) is seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate in the field of neurotechnology, targeting the implantation technology of brain implantable neuroelectronic devices to advance device interfacing stability in chronic implants. The candidate will interact on a regular basis with scientists in microelectronics, neuroscience and neural computation, and will develop and experimentally validate a novel automated insertion technology. The highly interdisciplinary research environment at IIT provides access to a state-of-the-art engineering and computational infrastructure and labs for the design, characterization, and experimental validation of neuroelectronic implantable devices based on CMOS technology.
Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:
· Develop and validate an integrated force sensor and engineer an insertion control system
· Cooperate/give support with other postdocs/PhD students/undergrads.
· Report to the group on the progress of your research activities and mentoring students

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE
- PhD in Neuroengineering, Bioengineering or a related subject.
- Strong background in biomechanics, bioelectronics, neurobiology.
- Expertise in computer science, experimental validation of brain implantable devices characterization tools and device integration.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- The successful candidate should have good practice with teamwork, group learning processes and a problem-solving attitude.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
