THE ROLE
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where junior and senior scientists collaborate, each with their expertise, to carry out a scientific activity with a shared research goal.
The Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence Research line is coordinated by Daniele Pucci. The research combines theoretical investigations with real-time practical implementation on real hardware and embedded electronics. This includes improving the state of art in wearables for physical human-robot interaction, telexistence technologies, and human biomechanics analysis.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time engineer interested in the general topic of Embedded Systems Designer for wearable systems. So, the focus of the job is to develop micro-controlled hardware, firmware and low level software.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in one of the following areas: robotics, software engineering, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, wearable robotics, or any other related field to electronics or robotics;
- Outstanding or very good academic track record;
- Creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude;
- Good command of spoken and written English.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience with electronic embedded systems;
- Experience with Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) design;
- Experience with hardware electronics development tools (e.g., PADS, Altium Designer, Eagle);
- Experience with programming languages (C, C++), and middlewares (e.g., YARP, ROS);
- Experience with GitHub or other code versioning tools
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
- Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset
