THE ROLE
IIT has recently launched a flagship initiative in Technologies for Healthy Living (THL), aiming to generate groundbreaking interdisciplinary research in health technology, spanning from AI and robotics to biotechnology. This program involves approximately 30 research lines and a diverse group of multidisciplinary researchers.
Within the Technologies for Healthy Living flagship, the Rehab Technologies Unit seeks a Software Engineer in the medical robotic field, who will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining software for clinical monitoring and indirect control of health-related assistive devices. You will be involved in every aspect of software development, from high-level control to low-level device communication protocols, ensuring the continuous integration of software components across the entire system. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure our devices meet the highest safety, efficiency, and effectiveness standards.
Primary research line: Human-Robot Interfaces and Interaction. Since this is a flagship project, collaboration with other research lines is planned and mandatory.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A master’s or bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, robotics or machine learning or a similar discipline
- Strong skills on C++ and Python
- Experience with ROS
- Confidence with version control tools (specifically git)
- A publication record
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data
- Good command in spoken and written English

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
- A yearly gross salary ranging between 28 and 32, which may include a bonus option depending on your role and contract
- Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
- Two days of teleworking per week and flexible working hours are available for certain roles
- Meal vouchers depending on your work contract
- Candidate holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree who have not been resident in Italy in the last 3 years and move back to Italy to start any work activity, and meet specific requirements, can benefit from a 50% deduction on their income.
